Playing house

This is a carrot dish from the Naked Chef's newest book. I'm trying out the rice pudding in the crockpot today. My chum is home with a cough. I feel like making our own throat lozenges with custom flavors and colors. I imagine them looking like antique marbles in a mason jar. I will use my antique silver sugar tongues to pick them out! This would make a nice Valentines gift as well. I'm sure Martha did this once.

I would just buy those sour balls we used to get as kids, and unwrap them all. They were fantastic. Old ladies always had them for you.

The rice pudding in a crockpot comes out really well. I used 2 percent milk and it was fine.

That's what Ma Ingalls would have done with the leftover verbena. What is horehound, anyway?

My doctor says that is the act of sucking on hard sugar that is effective for a cough/sore throat. Any flavor will do: peppermint, sour ball, lemon drop. No eucalyptus, menthall needed.

let us know how the crockpot rice pudding turned out:: the one time i tried it, the results were an unqualified 'awful.' perhaps the starch & the sweet milk will have a soothing effect on the cough, as well as on the soul?

Rice pudding just makes me hot----- wow, I can't believe I just said that out loud. I adore the stuff. Did the crockpot recipe come from Naked???

The throat lozenges sound lovely, lookout or you will have the whole neighborhood feeling puny!!!!
