First Wednesday Homesick Drill

They sounded the emergency sirens at noon today. Coincidentally I was adding glitter to some old St. Louis postcards for Christmas. I decorated the trees in front of St. Johns Hospital and the pillars of the Jefferson Memorial. These will make nice gift cards. I may take some photos from my album and photoshop them to look like old postcards and decorate those as well. Glitter is so gratifying!

I think they should glitter the Arch--full size.

North Euclid never looked so beautiful! Old postcards are some of the best time capsules. I think one could fake them fairly well with new photos using postcard printer paper. Use the matte kind, switch colors to sepia or b&w and put in the all important insta-vintage white border. Then if you want to get really fancy use color pencils to add subtle tints....

I was totally born in that hospital. It's true.

I'm not sure how I found your site but I really enjoy the posts and then I saw the St. Louis bits and wanted to say hello. I'm in the desert now and it's strange to hear my Missouri family talking about their nostrils being frozen shut when they walk outside. I can't say I miss that part but I do miss Missouri.

And I have some amazing 1904 World's Fair and other STL fripostcards and if you want to give some a good home send word and I'll dump a few in the mail for you.
