There are some really lovely examples of template graffiti around our neighborhood. I chose this one because on top of all the Halloween candy, I have eaten all the carmel apples. I would like to use chalk to graffiti my own porch and front walk. I read an article about an artist who decorated her black front door with chalk drawings throughout the year.

Would you incorporate templates into your chalk art?
I don't think I would for the house, but can you imagine an ad campaign in chalk templates all around town? I live near Cal in Berkeley and there are often student elections advertised in chalk all around campus. A really well done template would be so much more efficient and eye-catching!
Have you seen the chalk board planter pots in the Ballard Designs catalogue? Inexpensive and I'm buying a set with my next order.
A little girl in Brooklyn (where I live) drew on her own front porch and steps in chalk, and the "graffiti" got reported to our non-emergency service and the homeowner got a ticket. Absurd as it sounds, it's true. I do think your graffiti would be much more attractive than scribbles!
