Get out the folding chairs

Just yesterday I was wishing we had more chairs, and this morning on the way to get pastry we spied an estate sale sign! What treasures!

I had just paid for a Pith helmet when I saw this chair folded up in the basement, but I was $10 short. I asked the lady to hold it while I ran through the house calling, "Mom, Mom! lend me 10 bucks!"

Then I folded it up and carried it home. What a day!

What a score! That's some good thrift mojo you have there :)

I had to wait a full 24 hours to overcome my envy enough to comment.

We don't have that kind of stuff at estate sales here. They go straight to Christie's or Doyle's.

It's perfect, and perfectly accessorized!

Is that a wooly thoughts afghan I see draped shyly over the new chair? I've been thinking about tackling one of those - did it take forever?

Yes it is! It's their "Curve of Pursuit" and I made it out of Blackwater Abbey yarns. It wears like steel - it is a tent and play rug and a cover on top of soft blankets (because it's itchy) when it's chilly. If I do another, I'll start with a larger center square and I'll get some cheap long circulars from Knit Picks to keep each edge of the blanket on its own needle. There's some mathmatical magic where you can weigh it, multiply the weight by 1.5 and that's how much more yarn you need to do another round!

My roommate has that chair and it's so fantastic! Glad to see it, and with such a nice cozy, too.
