Leaf plate

I've been making leaf plates. I like the idea of a table covered in black or very dark navy linen and filled with ceramic leaf plates of food. I need to make these much larger - leaf platters.

Very autumnal. I'm wondering what you are making them out of, and are you finishing them in a kiln or airdrying?

Love this! Can't wait to see all the plates you make!

Reminds me of those "French Cheese leaves". A whole table would be so cool. Gingko leaves are a nice shape for a dish/platter, no?

It's beautiful. I, too, continue to be fascinated with leaves. Here's a poem I learned several years ago. It brings me some comfort on a gray October day.
Laura

Leaves don’t fall. They descend.
Longing for earth, they come winging.
In their time they’ll come again,
For leaves don’t fall. They descend.
On the branches, they will be again
Green and fragrant, cradle-swinging.
For leaves don’t fall. They descend.
Longing for earth, they come winging.
